The root of the word Islam in Arabic is Salama which is the origin of the words peace & submission, a submission to God and peace to all humanity. It is no wonder why the salutation and greeting of Islam is 'Assallamu'Alaikum' or May Peace be upon You. 'Indeed, there has come to you from Allah a light and a plain Book. Wherewith Allah guides all those who seek His Good Pleasure to ways of peace, and He brings them out of darkness by His will unto light and guides them to a Straight Way.(Al-Qur'an 5:16) Presented by Br Ajmal Masroor.

O Prophet! Truly We have sent thee as a Witness, a Bearer of Glad Tidings, and Warner. And as one who invites to Allah's (Grace) by His leave, and as a lamp spreading light. (Al-Quran 33:45-46) The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is described not as a lamp generating its own light, but as 'sirajan muneeran', a lamp given the Light of Allah to guide His servants to what is good and right. Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) was not the source of this light as the Quran atests that 'Allah is the the Light of the heavens and the earth' (Al-Quran 24:35), the Prophet was the lamp that spread and radiated this light to his fellow human-beings. An example of all noble and beautified characteristics, forever enshrined and emulated till the end of time. Presented by Dr Kemal Helbawy

Say, O Muhammad, 'Indeed my Prayer, my sacrifice, my living and my dying are all purely and solely for Allah, Lord of all the Worlds. There is no share of any of that for other than Him. That is what My Lord ordered me, and I am the first of this nation to submit to Allah as a Muslim.' [Al-Quran 6:162-163] The concept of worship in Islam differs from that found in other religions, in general, worship is understood to mean the observance of certain rituals: praying, fasting, giving charity, and other 'good' works. In Islam, however, worship is much more- it is one's entire life. As many Muslim scholars have said: 'Worship is an all-inclusive term for those internal and external sayings and actions of a person that are pleasing to Allah.' In other words, worship is that which is done in obedience to Allah's will, which obviously includes rituals but goes far beyond to the realms of ones beliefs, social activities, and personal contributions to one's society and fellow human beings. Presented by Dr Attur Rahman Gohar, a PhD graduate in Hadith studies and Professor at the International Islamic University Malaysia.

The Quranic standards of equality in justice transcend considerations of race, religion, color, and creed, as Muslims are commanded to be just to their friends and foes alike, and to be just in all spheres of their lives. So the Qur'an demands that justice be met for all, and that it is an inherent right of all human beings under Islamic Law. This is further elaborated by the narration of the Prophet, were Allah states,'O My slaves, I have forbidden injustice for Myself and forbade it also for you. So avoid being unjust to one another.' (Saheeh Muslim). Presented by Br Inam-ul-Haq Haqqani,a Muslim chaplin, Imam and LLB Shariah graduate from the International Islamic University, Islamabad.
