The Centre is pleased to announce the Hifz graduation of Br Yusuf Muhammed 21, a university student from Ealing. Yusuf began memorising the Qur’an under the tutelage of the Masjid's Imam Qari Atta ur Rahman some three years ago.

He joins a popular group of bright and promising young students who have benefitted from the Masjid’s Hifz School. Previous Hufaz include Br Ainudeen and Br Abdur Rahman. The Centre will be holding a small ceremony for Br Yusuf, on the occasion of this admirable achievement was held on Tuesday 19th January 2010.

Abdullaah ibn ‘Amr ibn Al-’Aas heard the Prophet (pbuh) saying: “It will be said to the companion of the Qur’an: Read and elevate (through the levels of Paradise) and beautify your voice as you used to do when you were in the dunyaa (world)! For verily, your position in Paradise will be at the last verse you recite!” [At-Tirmidi]

Aboo Umaamah relates that the Prophet (pbuh) said: “Read the Qur’an, for verily it will come on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its companions.” [Muslim]

The Prophet (pbuh) said 'That which is lawful is plain and that which is unlawful is plain and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which not many people know. Thus he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor, but he who falls into doubtful matters falls into that which is unlawful, like the shepherd who pastures around a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Truly every king has a sanctuary, and truly Allah's sanctuary is His prohibitions. Truly in the body there is a morsel of flesh which, if it be whole, all the body is whole and which, if it be diseased, all of it is diseased. Truly it is the heart.' [Related in Bukhari]
