O Prophet! Truly We have sent thee as a Witness, a Bearer of Glad Tidings, and Warner. And as one who invites to Allah’s (Grace) by His leave, and as a lamp spreading light. (Al-Quran 33:45-46) The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is described not as a lamp generating its own light, but as ‘sirajan muneeran’, a lamp given the Light of Allah to guide His servants to what is good and right. Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) was not the source of this light as the Quran atests that ‘Allah is the the Light of the heavens and the earth’ (Al-Quran 24:35), the Prophet was the lamp that spread and radiated this light to his fellow human-beings. An example of all noble and beautified characteristics, forever enshrined and emulated till the end of time. Presented by Dr Kemal Helbawy
